It's been a while since I've posted here, and I'm not sure if this is the right part of the Forum, but I was wondering if anybody could help me out.

I am trying to define a section of some documentation I am creating. There are several terms in this piece of software that have similar functions and may be substituted for each other, but there are also levels of complexity that differentiate them.

The section will look at each situation, and provide examples of when it is best to use one instead of another. Unfortunately, I can't be much more specific due to our non-disclosure policy.

I know there's a word/small phrase to describe this situation, but can't think of it. I have "Frequently Confused And Substituted Terms" right now as a placeholder, but that's too bulky, and I don't want to use the word "Confused" as a title.

Any and all help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

OK, here's an analogy I can provide that has nothing to do with what I'm working on.

If you wanted to input, sort, and analyze data, you can use either a spreadsheet or a database. On basic levels, they can both give you the same results. But there are certain tasks that are best handled by a spreadsheet, and others by a database.

So, if you wanted to, in a few paragraphs, explain when you would choose one over the other, what would you call those paragraphs?

Following the metaphor of the spreadsheet vs. database, I am reminded of what we call in my job as: best practices. This refers to optimal use of all tools at hand.

Thanks. I ran that by him and he suggested that "Helpful Hints" was maybe better suited to our situation.

Thanks again for your help!
